Sports Recruiters Central PA High School Football Combine Showcase Underclassmen Watch

Central PA’s 8th Annual High School Football Combine Showcase took place on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Bishop McDevitt High School’s Rocco Ortenzio Stadium.  Listed below are the top underclassmen prospects who were recognized for their outstanding performance at the combine.

Position QB:

Dylan Smith: Mechanicsburg Area High School, Mechanicsburg, PA

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 188

Position: QB

40 Yard Dash: 5.2

Class: 2018

Evaluation: Good size, solid mechanics, good footwork, accurate passer with fine arm strength, quick release, extremely coachable, makes good decisions, great attitude and character, solid overall athlete, quick feet, threw the ball with some velocity and accuracy during the one-on-one session, excellent pocket awareness

Carter Van Scyoc: Shippensburg Area High School, Shippensburg, PA

Height: 6’2”

Weight: 185

Position: QB

40 Yard Dash: 5.5

Class: 2018

Evaluation: Good size, good mechanics, solid footwork, accurate passer with a fairly strong arm, solid throwing motion, good follow through, very coachable, great attitude and character, solid overall athlete, makes good decisions, decent testing results, performed well in the one-on-one session and in the positional drills session, definitely one to keep an eye on this fall

Jake Wolfgang: Williams Valley High School, Tower City, PA

Height: 6’3”

Weight: 185

Position: QB/WR

40 Yard Dash: 4.7

Class: 2018

Evaluation: Very good size, solid mechanics and footwork, pretty good arm strength and fairly accurate, raw talent at quarterback, making the transition to quarterback after playing almost exclusively at wide receiver last year, needs more experience at quarterback to become more polished, very coachable, great attitude, good all-around athlete, excelled in all testing, performed well in the one-on-one session and in the positional drills session, good speed, fine agility and quickness, one to watch this season

Nicari Williams: Harrisburg High School, Harrisburg, PA

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 145

Position: QB

40 Yard Dash: 5.4

Class: 2020

Evaluation: Young qb with a lively arm, excelled at throwing the deep ball, solid mechanics and footwork, good accuracy and demonstrates nice touch, very coachable, good attitude, performed well in one-on-ones and positional drills, raw talent with loads of potential, definitely one to watch as he is only going into his freshman year

Position RB:

Onasis Neely: East Pennsboro High School, Enola, PA

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 188

Position: RB

40 Yard Dash: N/A

Class: 2018

Evaluation: Quick, good straight line speed, strong runner with balance and vision, displayed excellent agility and change of direction in position drills and one-on-ones, excelled in all testing, has a great deal of potential, great results for age, great attitude and very coachable, can plant a foot in the ground and accelerate to full speed in a hurry, excellent burst, has an extra gear in the open field, already receiving plenty of attention from Division 1 programs, one of the top prospects in the mid-state

Dylan Rabuck: Williams Valley High School, Tower City, PA

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 190

Position: RB/LB

Class: 2018

Evaluation: Changes directions very well, very good vision and instincts, great attitude, explosive, outstanding in all testing, legitimate top-end speed, quick, fine acceleration and agility, terrific performance in positional drills and one-on-ones, look out has big-time potential written all over him, should have an outstanding year this fall

Allen Hand: Williams Valley High School, Tower City, PA

Height: 5’7”

Weight: 145

Position: WR

Evaluation: Performed well in almost all testing, excellent athlete, solid speed, flexible and displayed good lateral agility, fluid hips and superb change of direction, excellent ball skills, runs precise routes, cat-like quick, very dangerous with the ball in space and in the open field, excellent in one-on-ones, should be a break-out performer and have a tremendous season

Isaiah Sawyers: Harrisburg High School, Harrisburg, PA

Height: 5’7”

Weight: 155

Position: WR/QB

40 Yard Dash: 4.7

Class: 2018

Evaluation: Sure handed with soft hands, nice balance and agility, quicker than fast, good attitude, runs crisp routes, very coachable, excellent change of direction, competitive in one-on-ones, solid speed and gets enough separation, high points the football in traffic, nice ball recognition skills, performed well in all testing and positional drills

Position OL/DL:

Cordell Cash: Bishop McDevitt High School, Harrisburg, PA

Height: 6’2”

Weight: 195

Position: DE/TE

40 Yard Dash: 4.9

Class: 2018

Evaluation: Nice sized line prospect, solid technique, has a good upside, quick feet, good looking overall athlete, showed signs of explosion, excelled in one-on-ones and positional drills, should break-out this year, very coachable, great attitude and work ethic, strong lineman prospect, will have to gain weight for the next level and maintain his speed and agility, excellent testing results, tested very well in the 20-yard shuttle and the power ball toss

Position LB:

Clay Meyers: Chambersburg Area High School, Chambersburg, PA

Height: 5’11’’

Weight: 185

Position: LB/RB

40 Yard Dash: 4.8

Class: 2018

Evaluation: Quick feet, extremely coachable, great attitude and character, good instincts and anticipation, proper technique and footwork, performed well in one-on-ones and positional drills, showed good change of direction, solid speed, should have a break-out year

Position DB:

Adam Houser: Shippensburg Area High School, Shippensburg, PA

Height: 5’8”

Weight: 160

Position: S/RB

40 Yard Dash: 4.7

Class: 2019

Evaluation: Split time between running back and defensive back during the showcase and excelled at both positions, changes directions very well, quick, good burst and agility, fine instincts, good cover skills, great attitude, nice recovery speed and anticipation, soft hands, solid speed, fine balance and body control, covered well in space in one-on-one session, performed well in all testing
